I have overcome-ed the temptations!

Oh my gosh! Do you know how tough that was?

I also lug many bags of my 'wants' back home just within 1 hour.

I decided to look around Bugis for 1 little bottle of cheap nail polish after my tuition today.

And I ended up trying up many many blushes on my tanned hands. I found my most suitable one at SaSa, costing $20.30. It was such a natural colour and it suited my skin tone so well. Moreover, it was a good brand which will not harm my beautiful skin.

It's not because I'm vain, okie. I've been convinced by many people recently to buy good skin products to protect my skin before it gets worse. And I think it makes sense. I should wait till my skin starts to get worse before I take care of it. I've also been wanting to get a good set of cosmetics for myself too, for events that I need makeup. If not, I'll always borrow from other people.

Conclusion: I should wait and see first. I might be too lazy to apply anything on my face.

Next, I went to Bugis Village, focusing on my nail polish.

And finally! I found a cheap black frame specs that is just nice for me! The specs is also smaller suiting my smaller face. I've been wanting to buy that for so long! And it's only $8!

Conslusion: I didn't buy also. Cuz I feel that I should spend $8 on food.

Then I passed by an accessories shop, and it has the kind of long and cute necklace that I want. It only costs $5 – 10. Cheap right!

Conclusion: I didn't buy. Cuz I should check out my friend's online shop first before buying.

Now, you know why women can shop for 1 hour and not get the thing that they want?

Haha! I don't wanna be like that. Actually I rarely do this kinda thing too.

Or perhaps it's part of growing up, becoming a woman. =p

I think I'm most satisfied eating good food.

And now, I'm eating my grandma's delicious cooking. =)

God’s blessings time and again!

Have you ever…

  1. ordered a delicious set of KFC meal from the counter, whipped out your wallet and realise you have no money to pay?
  2. received $4 from a KFC staff while you were squeezing your chilli?

Okie, the 2nd one was because I dropped my money unknowingly.

It happened to me many times before and it happened again today!

I order for food without any money in my pocket.

But God is so good to me. He sent me KFC angels to let me go atm and draw money (& they didn't show me any attitude) & picked up my money for me.

And you know what, I received a nice little jacket from Huilin. =) It fitted me so perfectly!

Thank you, Lord!

Oh ya, the previous post. I didn't get selected for the Vietnam trip.

Well, I guess God has something better in store for me this X'mas!

Cuz the trip will actually span throughout X'mas.

I'm really affected at all. And I thank God I get to spend my X'mas with my cell this time. =)

Will I be part of the 20?

I just went for an interview an OCIP trip. I wanna go to Vietnam!

And I'll spend my Christmas in Vietnam if I'm in.

You know, I heard so much from Sarah, that I so badly wanted to experience it myself. On top of that, looking back at my previous 2 years in NUS, hmm… maybe I should really be more "involved" in school. And mostly importantly, how many people can have the chance to build houses for people in Vietnam & educate them, bringing them a pinch of warmth?

Just imagine if I am working now, will I ever wanna leave my own comfortable homeland and plant myself in a place filled with poverty?

Well, maybe I will, still.

Anyway, the point is that it will be such a great experience.

BUT! I'm competing with 100+++ people over 20 pathetic vacancies!!!

God, if it's your will, let it be done.

My last day at TTSH. =)

Unknowingly, 2 months have passed just within a wink of an eye.

I truly enjoy my job as a Care Ambassador in TTSH. It was an experience that couldn't be bought anywhere else. There are some important and useful things that I've learnt in TTSH, and I shall lay them out in point form.

- I know all the hospitalization procedures (admission procedure, meeting Medical Social Worker (MSW), Bed Management Unit (BMU) arrangement of suitable bed according to your Class and your disciplines, attaching a tag on you to track your location and some health information, take your blood test for HIV & H1N1, etc.) you need to go through before you can lie on your hospital bed comfortably.

- The LCD screens in all the wards also don't just pop out like that. It requires many many departments' approvals, verification, documentations before it is in the wards. Even so, the after actions are also a lot, like checking to see if the LCD information is the same as the excel sheet that we have. If the LCD spoils, that's another round of procedures... Condemnation form passing around all the departments again, once to be signed, etc...

- I also did many researches on the Patient Bedside Terminal (PBT), which is very interesting. It's a touchscreen that patients can use to access information, surf net, play games, order their meals, pay bills, etc. Good implementation if TTSH begins that!
There's also the translation companies research, I get to know lots of companies and it's really expensive to hire a translator for just 1 hour! The cheapest is about $190/hr! Scary!
AND many more researches.

- Most importantly, I realise when you smile to someone, be it through the phone or face to face, somehow, the atmosphere of the conversation is changed into a light-hearted one. =) I can even talk to a stranger, broke out into laughter, even though it's a corporate call. =)
The working society can be friendly too.

My colleagues make a lot of difference too! They are the BEST colleagues that I have ever met!
Lynette, Boon Huat, Faith, and Kum Meng are my dearest colleagues!

I thank the Lord for such wonderful work place!
And He blessed me with lunch treats, tea treats and snack treats from all my colleagues!
I feel so blessed!

Now, I'm a bit reluctant to leave my desk...
A teeny bit of sadness lingers in my heart.

I so feel like Moses!

I am so excited that I HAVE TO share this with you!
God has been so wonderful and amazing!

Throughout the years, God has been telling me my revival begins with the Word.
I know that clearly. But somehow, I lack discipline to read bible every day. And nowadays, I decide to re-read my bible starting from Genesis. And as I move forth to Exodus, amazing things happen!
I feel like I am the female Moses in this century!

You know, Exodus begins with Moses and the burning bush. It talks about how God wants to use Moses even though Moses feel so inadequate. I was feeling like Moses too, very inadequate in serving Him. Then God sent Pastor Hock Chye to pray for me during a prayer meet.
He says "God wants to use you!"
I said "AMEN!"
And I thank God that He gave me opportunities to lead worship in GDOP, One Love Awakening, Youth Sunday, and now I can even serve in Korea! Remember Junhui hoped the youths will all have a burning-bush experience.
And, God, I had it!

Then when I reading about Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt, the Israelites complained about no food, no water, and even blamed Moses. And all Moses did was to obey God! How unfair is this? And you know what! God made me experience this just 2 days ago!

There is this Module Preference Exercise in NUS, which you can get your modules for free, if they allow. I missed this totally in my Year 1, so I told myself that I will not miss it for the rest of my years! For people who know, it is a torture to miss this, because you will have to "fight" a "war" against hundreds of people for every module without that.

So this year, I waited for my friend to confirm with me a module, since she said she wants to take it with me. So, I reminded her many times before the dateline and she said she will get back to me. BUT when I accessed the exercise on Wed night, to my utmost horror, I dropped my jaw when I saw "NOTE: Module Preference Exercise is closed." I was like "GOD!!! WHY!" Then I was reminded that my friend might have missed the dateline too. But (aw!) she did it already, and she forgottened to tell me. I was so devastated! I was asking God, why did He place me in this situation when all I did was to be nice?! Why did I have to face this just before I'm going Korea? I was on the verge of breaking down and nothing can seem to applease me.

Then I heard a voice calling me to praise Him. "God, are you kidding me?" I was reading a book titled "Extravagant worship", I stopped at the story of David. When all the kings decide to stir a war against him, instead of gathering his armies, he used praise as weapon! So I began to praise and sing to Him, but it was really the Spirit in me that was singing, it was very hard for me to ignore what is in front of me. But I really thank God because I really never have any misgiving against my friend. If not, that would have broken out friendship.

So, the next day. I was still very upset, but God sent me a very timely and apt online devotion. After I read, I was like "Oh God! What are you doing to my life?" The devotion was titled "How God builds your faith: difficulties" (attached below). I was so comforted by God because I know He clearly understands!

He is turning my sorrow into joy!
He is turning my dissapointment into hope!
It's a 180 degree emotional flip!

I am so excited about what God is doing in my life now!
I can really experience what Moses was feeling then.
How exciting it is to walk with the Lord, in both good and bad times.

I want to encourage all of you, when you feel that u're deeply rooted in the bottom of the deepest pit, God can fire you up like a firework, making you sing explosive praise to Him.

Thank you, Lord! =)

O God, Why??!!

O God! Why?!?!?!

Please be my deliverer in times of agony
Please take all my disappointment away
Please help me see a glimpse of hope in darkness

I will praise you in all of my days, be it good or bad.
Lord, Your grace will be sufficient for me.

I trust.
totally.

Always by Kirk Franklin

Artist: Kirk Franklin
Title: Always
Album: The Rebirth Of Kirk Franklin

[Verse 1]
You know I’ve had some lonely days
I’ve made mistakes and had to pay
I’ve had some friends that walked away
Just like mama told me

But there’s someone whose love is real
Who cares about the way I feel
Every pain, and erase every stain
There’s peace when I call out your name

[Chorus 1]
Jesus, You’re my everything
The cross, You did that just for me
So whatever You take me through
I promise you
I’ll spend my always with you

[Verse 2]
No one can touch my heart like You
Or make me smile the way You do
I finally found someone who
Who really, truly loves me

And when my strength has come and gone
Your life in me it makes me strong
Your hand is where my heart belongs
You took all my pain and erased every stain

[Chorus 1]
[Chorus 2]
Jesus, my whole life has changed
Since that day I cried Your name
For every time You’ve brought me through
I promise You
I’ll spend my always with You

Did He say He’ll never leave you?
Did He promise He’ll never forsake you?
How many of you believe that in here?
Let me hear you (Ohhhhhhhh oohhhhhh ohhh)
He won’t let you down, right? (Ohhhhhh ohhhhh)
He’ll catch every tear
So if you know He can be your Father and He cares for you
Come on and stand on your feet and help me praise Him in here

[Chorus 1]
[Chorus 2]
[Chorus 1]
[Chorus 2]
