Unknowingly, 2 months have passed just within a wink of an eye.
I truly enjoy my job as a Care Ambassador in TTSH. It was an experience that couldn't be bought anywhere else. There are some important and useful things that I've learnt in TTSH, and I shall lay them out in point form.
- I know all the hospitalization procedures (admission procedure, meeting Medical Social Worker (MSW), Bed Management Unit (BMU) arrangement of suitable bed according to your Class and your disciplines, attaching a tag on you to track your location and some health information, take your blood test for HIV & H1N1, etc.) you need to go through before you can lie on your hospital bed comfortably.
- The LCD screens in all the wards also don't just pop out like that. It requires many many departments' approvals, verification, documentations before it is in the wards. Even so, the after actions are also a lot, like checking to see if the LCD information is the same as the excel sheet that we have. If the LCD spoils, that's another round of procedures... Condemnation form passing around all the departments again, once to be signed, etc...
- I also did many researches on the Patient Bedside Terminal (PBT), which is very interesting. It's a touchscreen that patients can use to access information, surf net, play games, order their meals, pay bills, etc. Good implementation if TTSH begins that!
There's also the translation companies research, I get to know lots of companies and it's really expensive to hire a translator for just 1 hour! The cheapest is about $190/hr! Scary!
AND many more researches.
- Most importantly, I realise when you smile to someone, be it through the phone or face to face, somehow, the atmosphere of the conversation is changed into a light-hearted one. =) I can even talk to a stranger, broke out into laughter, even though it's a corporate call. =)
The working society can be friendly too.
My colleagues make a lot of difference too! They are the BEST colleagues that I have ever met!
Lynette, Boon Huat, Faith, and Kum Meng are my dearest colleagues!
I thank the Lord for such wonderful work place!
And He blessed me with lunch treats, tea treats and snack treats from all my colleagues!
I feel so blessed!
Now, I'm a bit reluctant to leave my desk...
A teeny bit of sadness lingers in my heart.
